I have a fun one for you all today. When I received the request to recreate a wedding cake for a surprise 50th wedding anniversary party, y'all know I just had to do it! 😊 Working off an original wedding picture, a similar design was created. With a special shout out to the ladies who found an exact 50 year old replica of the original cake topper!! It really pulled the entire look together. 🩷 Such a cool idea for such a special anniversary. The cake itself had a 6" tier of french vanilla cake, a 9" triple chocolate cake, and a 12" french vanilla cake. Each tier was layered throughout with a vanilla maple buttercream. All flowers and leaves for this cake were handmade here in the cafe out of sugar gum paste. Congratulations to the happy couple on your very special 50th anniversary!! 🥂

Also leaving the Cafe today was this awesome Concord High School baseball jersey. This is a triple chocolate, 2 layer high cake with vanilla buttercream filling. All designs were hand sketched and then created with buttercream using the "old school" style star tipping method. This method is a real hand clencher by the end, but oh so worth it for the crisp finished look. Happy 17th Birthday, Alex! I hope you have a great one! 🥳

This was the week for cakes and I was loving every minute of it! Custom cakes are my favorite passion and the entire reason I started CWC. This one is a Dragon Ball Z themed cake. It is an 8" round, four layer high, French Vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream filling and covering. The decorations were all made from a mixture of sugar gum paste and modeling chocolate. Okay folks, as promised, here is the cake that is going to be raffled off at the Candy Land Parry at Southgate Crossing tomorrow, Saturday the 24th. This is an 8" round, four layer high, French vanilla flavored cake. Each layer is a different color for that Candy Land rainbow look when cut. Layered within and on the outside with CWCs signature buttercream. The cake is also buried in even more sweetness: sprinkles, suckers with a chewing gum center, gumdrops, gummi bears, licorice, a melted vanilla candy drip around the edges, and even a sugar cone buttercream ice cream cone. And in the middle of it all is an actual gingerbread Candy Land character. This cake will have your sweet tooth watering for a taste of every stop in Candy Land. Make sure you bring the kiddos in to the event from 10:30am to 3:30pm tomorrow for a chance to win.🍬🍭

Here at CWC I've made custom cakes by request ranging from adorably innocent, to elegant, to the creepiest of creepy. And anyone that remembers my "IT" cake from Halloween a couple of years ago, knows exactly what I'm talking about. I even freaked myself out with that one. Haha This cake today falls into the same category. Meet Kissy Missy. An adorable Teddy Bear creature? Not quite with all of those jagged creature teeth. This is a funfetti flavored cake with fur-like buttercream frosting and modeling chocolate facial features. With each tooth being formed by hand here in the cafe. This bright pink sweet treat is sure to be the talk of the party. 🥳

Well another event for Cake Walk Cafe has come and gone. We had another great time at the Valentines event at Southgate Crossing. Thank you so much for the awesome crowd of new customers and so many familiar faces that came out to support CWC today! I couldn't tell you how many people came out and said "I came out here just to find you!" And that's why I love doing this so much. The baking and challenge of the creations is fun, and the people are always so great to talk to. One customer saw my mini cakes today and said "look, baby cakes!" I loved that so much that they will from now on be called "baby cakes". Haha. So thank you to everyone who made this a sold out day. Y'all rock!

Anyone that really knows me knows how purple is my favorite color. So when a customer asks me to make her a Wednesday Addams cake in a deep purple with lots of sparkly glitter, you can bet I was all in for it! This is an 8", four layer high, triple chocolate cake filled with layers of purple buttercream. Covered on the outside with purple buttercream and edible glitter. The decorations are a combination of edible images and hand made figures and scenery. (Thank you April!) And just to add to the purple glow, I added purple lighting around the bottom of the cake. And the race is on here at the Cafe! Mario and Luigi cruised in for another visit today. Using this #5 cake as a racetrack, they flew through to wish a special someone a Happy Birthday. This is a two layer vanilla cake with buttercream filling. The track, gold coins and stars are all made from edible modeling chocolate. Each race car is an actual pull back toy that can be played with long after the cake is gone. Accompanying the cake are six triple chocolate cupcakes topped with a swirl of Mario and Luigi colors. And just to add a little extra pizazz, the cake is surrounded with blue cake lights. Happy 5th Birthday Cooper! 🥳

It will be three years next month that I left my job as a trucking dispatcher from a company I worked at for 10 years. When people asked me what I was going to do now and I said "I'm going to start a home baking business." Needless to say I had alot of snickers and eye rolling when people commented "you're leaving to bake cupcakes?" Even now I get that response from people. But this adventure is much more than just "baking cupcakes." And when some people see how much time and effort I put into hand painting and hand crafting my custom cakes, cookies, and all the sweet treats I make, they think I'm equally as crazy. I've been asked why I don't buy pre-packaged items. Why I don't buy pre-made flowers and such. Well this is why: the old school made from scratch way is the best way and the best flavors. It may take longer but I believe that all those little detailed touches are what make Cake Walk Cafe stand out. I finally understand what my mom meant when she said "made with love". ❤️ So just know that every order created here at CWC is treated like its one of our own. Your special occasion is OUR special occasion. 😁

And just like that, a princess turns three! This cake was so much fun to make. Every little detail coming together to help make this little girl one happy princess. All the way down to the perfect crown that her mom found for the cake topper. (I was so excited when I saw it ha) This is a 10" round, four layer high French vanilla cake with vanilla marshmallow buttercream filling. Each rose, flower, and flowerbud decorating the outside of the cake were hand sculpted from modeling chocolate here in the cafe and are completely edible. Each little flower is perched on its own flower wire stem. Each rose is trimmed in edible glitter and gold leaf, along with the top of the cake being covered in edible prism glitter. The picture frame around the princess picture is a free hand design with buttercream and hand painted with gold leaf paint. The perfect burst of bright colors on this majorly snowy white day! Happy 3rd Birthday little one from CWC! 🥳
